No:15 2015

GEG
On the 11th of August I went to Auckland with Mrs B, Mrs H Stella, Shakina, Lucy, Ngaire, Chelsea, Max, Ty, William and Samuel. We went to Auckland because at we were going to a school in orewa we were going to something called GEG which stands for google education gadgets so we brought our chromebooks. The van we were in had 12 seats but 1 of them was a fold out seat and it didn't have a seat belt so we had to get a new van. After we had put all the luggage in the van we were finally on the road again but we had to stop again because no one brought the bread. Then we had no more stops. In the van I sat next to Shakina. I wanted to sit next to Stella but I couldn't.

After a while we finally arrived at the hotel we had separate rooms a boy room and a girl room, but we had to swap rooms because the boys room was bigger and there were 7 in one room and 5 in the other.And then the boys came into our room for dinner we had nachos and for pudding Mrs B made a marshmallow slice when we finished the boys left.Then we went to bed me and Stella slept on the couches. In the morning when I woke up Shakina and Ngaire were awake so I went into there room when Stella woke up she came in as well Lucy was the last one up and everyone looked really tired. When everybody was awake the the boys came in for breakfast we had toast with spaghetti then we made our lunch we had sandwiches. Then we packed everything up we went to the beach next to the motel.

Then we were finally on our way to orewa school it was huge and there was lots of people. We got a gift bag with a map a pen and a notebook with a pen. Then this person spoke who was only 16 and when he was 14 he started his own business he gave a very long speech. Then we started first we went to blue 7c, poetry/imovie with Zoe she showed us 2 movies with poetry in them this is the poem I did a picture to it's called the dog ate my homework this is how it goes

The dog ate my homework it mischievous pup got hold of my homework and gobbled it up it's gonna be late I guess the teacher will just have to wait the dog ate my homework he swallowed it whole I shouldn't have mixed it with food in his bowl.

Next we went to red 6a, which was animation with 4 year 2 kids there group was called the marvellous meerkats for the animations we used google slides this is the link to the one I made.

After that we went to the library and learnt about a new site called kahn academy it helps you at school you have an avatar get points and upgrade your avatar.

Lastly we went to blue 7a we found out about another site called blendspace where you make your own inquiry and invite people by sharing it you can also make brainstorms add videos questions images and information then you answer your questions and it was really fun.

There was also prizes, no one from ohaeawai won any prizes. On the way back home it was really quiet because everyone was really tired.
